kinetico was new in 1991. Look at all the rust in this softener. Here is a great example of what happens to any softener on a water supply with heavy iron. This is why a softener needs new resin or replaced. An iron filter would also extend the life of the softener.

The whole home water filter is five feet high and only 12 inches in diameter so they don’t take up much room. However, larger homes may require a slightly larger filter. The water conditioner is installed at the water main usually in the garage.
