What type of filter is best for removing iron from water?
I’ve done some research on my own about the presence of iron in water, and the "rotten egg smell" that can sometimes be associated with it, but my water doesn’t seem to have an odor. Can someone suggest a product that might work for me?
The Niagara+™ Birm Iron Filter efficiently removes iron where hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor) is NOT present, organic matters do not exceed 4 ppm and pH level is greater than 6.8 The Birm Iron filter will also remove Manganese in applications where the Ph level is between 8 and 9.

iron dosen’t smell like rotten eggs, thats sulpher. most iron removers are just a tank full of magical sand that the water flows through after getting hit with a dose of air to make it rust, then once a day to once a week it backwashes itself to clean the sand. Their are iron removing filters but depending on the amount of iron in your water they might clogg rather quickly and get expensive. Call your local water softener people, most do a free test and check-up and can reccomend what you will need, but don’t necessarily go for the "remove everything" system without first trying some of its water, really clean water has no taste and you might miss it.
