My water comes out white?

I bought a GE water filter. When I put on the water, it is white, but then it fades to clear.

IS THIS NORMAL?!

Did you let the water run for the recommended period of time. Filters must be purged before use. What you may be seeing is Oxygen bubbles. To test fill a glass with a very small trickle, if it is clear when running slow and white at high pressure, you are simply seeing bubbles.

    yes, it will stop after the loose particulat mater has rinsed throught the new system and all the minute air bubbles are purged out.
