ge fxutc water filter problem with low water pressure after only two weeks?
under sink and a plumber installed it about 10 years ago.it has just started this in the last couple of months.
is it a whole house filter or a point of use filter? and who installed it?

Either you have a load of junk being filtered out of your water supply or this sounds like a Very undesirable filter system. I would question the manufacturer.

Perhaps the filter is doing to well of a job, maybe you have an old galvanized steel water service, maybe the city was working on the pipes and a lot of debris entered the filter, in any event you need to change the filter out. If the problem persists, then maybe you need to change the type of filter that removes less pollutants, one that only removes the big chunks and doesn’t remove the millions of microns as some of them boast.

Was your plumber part of the package where you ordered your filter from? Are the rings that were fitted the proper size? That can screw things up greatly.
As for the under sink solution you are using, if you are able to change that I would highly recommend you go for a whole house water filter that works at point of entry.
Point of entry solves the problem of dealing with an under the sink filter, and can be done for much less than you are paying now. Not to mention, you are likely getting tons of chlorine in the other water sources in your home – where a point of entry will remove all those issues.
Could be issues with your 10 year old system, or that filter. You’ll probably need someone to go in and look it all over.
