I have a GE side by side fridge with a water and ice dispenser in the door.
Today, for no apparent reason, the water dispenser quit working.
All the fittings seem fine. The water to the fridge is turned on. I removed the water filter and tried the water dispenser and water wasn’t even coming out of where the filter is (actually, it sometimes came out a drop at a time).
It sounds like the pump is trying to pump water through.
My wife said she turned the freezer colder (6 out of 10, was at 5 out of 10). Other than that, nothing changed.
Any ideas?
The filter is about 1 week old. I even tried to use the platic piece that bypasses the filter. I don’t think the filter is the issue.
It sounds like the line is clogged. The refrigerator water lines are often white or clear. Pull out the refrigerator and see if you can determine if something is lodged in the line. If a determination can not be made, turn off the water (at the wall), take the water line off, and take it to a local hardware store. Someone there might be able to help you.
Good luck.
