How do I get the head of my Kitchen faucet where the water comes out off?

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

I am trying to install a water filter on my kitchen sink but to do so I have to take the faucet head off. It is stuck on there pretty good and I have tried to twist if off to the point that my hands are hurting. Any advice of how to get the head to come off?

Try pliers or vise grips. See this link.

What is the best faucet mount water filtration system. Pur 3 stage filter vs. pur reg. filter?

Monday, November 30th, 2009

The pur 3 stage filter becasuse it gives you better tasting water because of the last stage in which it filters the water over select minerals and it also cleans your water better with stage one and stage two…the downs to this three stage filter though is that you have to change the fliters AND minerals unlike the one stage filter where you must change just one filter….the three stage filter is also a little bigger and bulkier….in the end both filters have good sides and bad sides but i would go with the 3 stager

Purified Drinking Water w/o The Bottles

What’s filtered out of the water?

Use a drinking glass just like the old days… Only Better!

FACTS & FAQ’s:
It is estimated that over a 70-year lifespan, a person drinking tap or mineral water will be ingesting about 200 to 300 pounds of rock that their body cannot use. While most of these microscopic rock minerals will be eliminated from our bodies regularly, some will be stored in our tissues becoming toxic. The primary culprits are calcium salts and over time they can cause gallstones, kidney stones, bone & joint calcification, arthritis, and hardening and blocking our arteries. The presence of other hard metal minerals (some are radioactive!) is suspected to cause other degenerative diseases as well including eye glaucoma, cataracts, hearing loss, emphysema, diabetes, obesity and cancer. These minerals available, especially in “hard” tapwater, are poorly absorbed, or rejected by cellular tissue sites, and, if not evacuated, their presence may cause arterial obstruction, and internal damage.(Dennison 1993, Muehling 1994, Banik 1989)

Distillation systems are comparable in contaminant removal, however since many synthetic chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides and chlorine solutions have boiling points lower than water, these chemicals will vaporize and can be carried over into the product water container actually making the collected purified water even more concentrated in those particular chemicals.

Reverse osmosis is also the only purification system that can remove the majority of dangerous Pharmaceuticals & Drugs from our drinking water. Reverse osmosis removes many contaminants that countertop and faucet carbon filters cannot including viruses, bacteria, pesticides, arsenic, fluoride, drugs, cryptosporidium, mercury, nitrates, microbes, heavy metals, all radioactive materials, and many more.

Is it safe to drink water from a kitchen faucet without a filter?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Usually. Definitely if you get water from a water company.
Though not in Las Vegas, so it depends where you live.

I live on Long Island. Our tap water is bottled, unfiltered, and sold nationwide as spring water. Though we do have very good water.

How do I fix this water faucet?

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

I have a new faucet in our house and the thing where you push up and down and left and right to direct the water is loose. (See the picture in the link below, ours is like this one). When I push it up the lever comes back down. Any ideas?

http://www.guide4home.com/dec-fau/images/water-filter.jpg

If you look just under the handle you will see a part with vertical lines on it that are all the way around it. wrap this with a rag and tighten it with a pair of channel lock pliers. The rag will keep the pliers from gauling up the finish on the faucet.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE FAUCET, as some others have suggested.
