This is a video of a kinetica water softener that was removed from a house. It is amazing the amount of iron that was in the softener and filter housing. This is actually very common on a water supply with iron or manganese. Anyone out there with an old unit take note you probally need new resin too!

I’m tryn to install a water filter on a cast iron sink, i had try metal drill bid.

the box which is GE made says you dont need any tools which is what I did for the kitchen sink faucet (easy).But I can’t remove the shower head ,and I don’t want to crush it with pliers can any one help?

There should be a flat spot for a wrench to turn the head, in order to remove it. Good luck!

Haha why do you people keep saying that I can do this if I am in Mexico, of course I am in Mexico. The question is, can I simply buy a water filter and put it on my faucet and then drink the water that comes from it?

When you get home, clean with hydrogen peroxide and change pre and post filters. *Note; boiling only sends the good stuff back up and just like cooking you get a reduction of junk left behind. Bottled water is a crap shoot unless you have a 40.00 TDS meter to test it and it too inconvenient to use for ice and cooking. Also, h2o should have flavor or minerals. We get those from food so we need high quality water to transport those goodies throughout our body.

check it out. the under the sink called the reverse osmosis filters cost $499 include install and tax comes with the carbon filter which you have to unscrew and put in new filter every six months. and the other one costs $599 with install and tax. with this one , you throw away the whole filter unlike the carbon filter one. which one is better. also there the whole house filter which comes with water softener and the under the sink filter for $2000 with tax and install. any suggestions or opinions are appreciated. thanks.

why not just get a water filter that attaches to your faucet>? they are like 25=30 bucks at walmart or target. the one I bought today was $30 and it will filter 300 gallons of water before I have to replace it.

We have hard water that come’s out yellow almost brown because it’s so hard. Can I put epson salt in the pool to get out the iron? Is there something else I can do? I( have shocked it and filtered it and just can’t get the iron out.. Any suggestions would be great?

Take a water sample to a pool store and have it tested for iron. They have chealating agents that will remove metals from water. Use as directed. You will need to keep some on hand to treat the pool every time you have to add make-up water. Most metal inhibitors are good. Some are better than others. Metal Magnet is a good brand, as is Metal Out.
